Very Quick!

Ok so today is the day to finish mittens for Lottie's friend and deliver presents and get all final bits that I need to buy because I am going away for Christmas!

Now you know when you have an idea and then as it gets nearer you think that could just be madness well this is it.

Way back in the year I thought that it would be fun to go away Dave (my other half) had enough holidays in the bag and it could just be fab! Well he changed jobs and has no holiday in the bag and as this gets nearer I know both the phone and laptop will be with us. So madness it is - never mind will just have to carry on preparing regardless.

Off to brave the shops again. Sarah xx

OOps!

Well it started out as a fairly strange evening - Lottie off to guides etc. Then the phone started to ring so I wound the skein if dancing leaf farm yarn as I chatted! At this point I was just enjoying 'playing' with the yarn - no crime there then!! I then had a message on the phone so called that person back and carried on winding. Still no crime committed.

I actually wrote all of my Christmas cards (yes I am late I know that and every year I vow to do then sooner). I then went out and did the child collection bit and returned all girls to rightful parents - I am doing so well!

My daughter then decides she is so full of party sugar that she is to hyper to go to bed yet as starts chatting away (as she does!). At this point I have a pattern in mind for this yarn and begin to start!!! Now there was the crime!!!! Even worse I then show my daughter who says no I don't like that why don't you knit a clapotis without all the dropped stitches so you can see how pretty the yarn is? Hmm quick frog and recast on and here is the worst bit -I like it - so have now knitted the starting part of said scarf/shawl from here on in known as a clop (so called by afore mentioned daughter).

So now I have yet another just begun project - lots to take away over Christmas me thinks!

For goodness sake don't lets me cast anything else on or I won't get all the essentials into the car along with all my knitting, sewing machine, dog, wellies etc. I have put the pic of some of my wips up here so you can see but believe me there are lots more to come. Must go - still more shopping to do today! Hope the 'box' arrives with the next person soon! I did post it girls - I promise (on friday so I am starting to panic now - hope it is just the Christmas rush).

See you soon, S xx (hmm rug looks like it needs a bath - sorry)

Holiday Swap

Well just a little tale to tell here - a group of us knitty girls decided to join a project club with a web based shop who will remain nameless. We all received the first project which was a lovely lace weight shawl but as the months moved on none of us got anything else! Luckily for us we had an email that contained everyones email ads so could get in touch with each other. As you can imagine lots of very cross emails went around and eventually most of us have our money back. We all wanted something nice to come out of this bad experience so our US chum suggested a box swap to cheer us all up.

Lucky girl that I am, the box arrived with me first so the above photo is the goodies that I chose from that box. I can hardly wait to cast on the sock monkey / rabbit and am still considering what to make with the other 2 lovely yarns. The box was then topped up with goodies by me and swiftly sent to the next girl to come out of the 'hat'. Can't wait to see what she chooses!

Still on the needles to date:
Mock cable sock
Strawberry clapotis
Mini christmas sock (nearly done)
Mittens for Lotties' friend (one finished)
Various other items started and put to one side.
And yes I am still thinking of starting something else!! Must finish some of the above first.

In the mean time must go and get warm it is freezing today!

Hmm!

Well I have been a bit busy the last couple of days.

Firstly I HAD to do an emergency visit to LYS. My daughter wants me to make fingerless mittens for one of her friends for christmas so needed more yarn and needles. (I have started these straight away).

Yesterday I had to make a start on the tidying up - still loads more to do !

Today it is freezing and the logs should be arriving any minute!

Must dash now but thought I should put in a quick appearance here so you don't feel forgotten!

Bye for now.
